This workshop congregated 15 scientists between 27 and 57 years of age who work in 8 different countries, and the topic covered? the state of the art in the emerging field of endohedral single molecule magnetism.   • 2013-6-16 to 6-21: Chaired by Prof. Shangfeng Yang, the 1st International Symposium on Nanocarbons (ISNC2013) was held in Hefei successfully. ISNC2013 was jointly sponsored by National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and Hefei Center for Physical Science and Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, organized by University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) and CAS Key Laboratory of Materials for Energy Conversion. Among the participants for this symposium, over 10 foreign guests, including Professors Wolfgang Kr?tschmer, Dirk Guldi, Maurizio Prato, Rodney Ruoff, Takeshi Akasaka, Sergey I. Troyanov, Steven Stevenson, Yuhuang Wang, and Alexey A. Popov, are from five countries, including Germany, The United States, Italy, Russia and Japan. Other more than 90 participants are from China. Besides, this symposium attracted more than 60 graduate and undergraduate students of USTC. Three sub-groups summarized their annual progresses, and competed for the best-presentation prize based on the votings of all participants. Besides, Prof. Shangfeng Yang awarded the annual best-behavior prize to Mr. Song Wang. After the meeting, our group got together for a dinner to celebrate the harvest of 2012 and the coming Chinese New Year of Snake.   • 2012-1-9 to 1-11: Prof. Shangfeng Yang attended the Symposium on Cluster and Nanosciences, which was held in Xiamen, China, and presented an invited talk: "Exploring Novel Endohedral Clusterfullerenes".
  • 2012-1-8: The Annual Group Meeting of Lab. of Endohedrall Fullerenes was held successfully. All of group members attended the meeting, presenting their annual summary work for the past year. Two members (Mr. W. F. Zhang, Mr. T. Wei) won the best-presentation prizes based on the votings of all participants. Prior to the meeting, our group got together for bowling game to celebrate the new year. Everybody was relaxed and participated in a final match in which three teams won. It was a good time for us to play together, enjoy the performances of others and experience the team coorporation <photos>.

  • 2010-12-28: The Annual Group Meeting of Lab. of Endohedrall Fullerenes was held successfully. More than 18 group members including all graduates and some undergraduates attended the meeting with snacks, joys, and fruitful discussions. Three sub-groups summarized their annual progresses, and competed for the best-presentation prize based on the votings of all participants. Prof. Shangfeng Yang awarded the annual best-behavior prize as well. After the meeting our group got together for a dinner to celebrate the chinese Rabbit Year. We then had a good time in KTV together and everybody enjoyed the performances of others <photos>.

Other participants include Prof. Changfei Zhu (vice president of USTC), Prof. Xiaoping Wang (vice director of Hefei National Laboratory for Physical Science at the Microscale), Prof. Yalin Lu (Head of Dept. of Material Sciences and Engineering, USTC), and members of our innovation team<news>.
  • 2010-10-19: Upon the invitation of Prof. Lothar Dunsch, PhD candidate Mr. Chuanbao Chen joined Prof. Dunsch's group of Leibniz-Institute for Solid State and Materials Research (IFW) Dresden, Germany for an exchange program which will last for four and a half months. All the best to him!

Mr. Minghua Li presented a talk "Donor-p-Acceptor Double-Cable Polythiophenes Bearing Fullerene Pendant with Tunable Donor/Acceptor Ratio: A Facile Postpolymerization" (Electrochemistry and Energetic Chemistry Symposium) while both Mr. Chuanbao Chen and Mr. Wenfeng Zhang presented posters <photos>.

  • 2010-3-18: Undergraduate Mr. Pan Xu of our group participated in "The Bangkok Business Challenge @ Sasin 2010" together with several undergraduates from MBA and Dept. of Materials Science and Engineering and entered the Play-off Round Competition. The USTC team with the proposed project based on the technology of the plastics solar cells developed in our group finally won the "Recognition of Environmental Concerns" Award <news>.
